Moonshiners and American Heart Association Partner to Support the Kids Heart Challenge

by Eli Stone

North Wilkesboro, NC - The Wilkes County Moonshiners, proud members of the Old North State League, are extremely excited to announce their partnership with the American Heart Association. The Moonshiners are specifically involved in the Kids Heart Challenge Event, and will host an AHA Appreciation Night on June 8th at Patriot Park.

The Kids Heart Challenge (grades K-5) and American Heart Challenge (middle and high school) programs help to teach students heart-healthy habits and CPR, while also raising funds for the AHA.

In order to participate in the event, students will need to register online at http://heart.org/schools or on the AHA Schools app. Then, they will need to donate or raise at least $50 within their personal headquarters page. Once they have reached the $50 minimum, they will automatically receive a voucher for their two free tickets.

The following Wilkes County Schools have events planned this year; Mulberry Elementary School, Boomer Ferguson Elementary School, Millers Creek Elementary School, Wilkesboro Elementary School, C B Eller Elementary School, North Wilkesboro Elementary School, Moravian Falls Elementary School, Roaring River Elementary School, and East Wilkes Middle School. In order to receive their two free tickets, students must have participated in their school's Heart Challenge event.
